So imagine our shock when a defamatory review appeared on our Trustpilot profile—written by someone we’ve never worked with, about a company we’ve never even heard of.
The review accused “Diamond Media Press” of unethical publishing practices. But it was posted on our page.
We followed every proper channel:
We submitted a takedown request.
We provided proof that the review referenced another company.
We received confirmation that the review violated Trustpilot’s own guidelines, and it was removed.
But then, without warning, they put it back.
The reviewer, still referencing another company by name, claimed it was “intended” for us. No proof. No connection. No accountability.
We have now:
Filed a formal BBB complaint
Reported the incident to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
Prepared a legal case for defamation, negligence, and reputational harm
Documented every email, screenshot, and contradiction from Trustpilot’s team
We share this not just for ourselves, but for every small business that’s been silenced, misrepresented, or ignored by platforms claiming to support consumer trust. We believe in honest reviews. However, we will never accept lies masquerading as opinion.
If you’ve been affected by similar misconduct, we encourage you to speak up. Integrity matters.
At Purple Diamond Press, we’ve never been afraid of the truth.
Founded by award-winning author and entrepreneur Charity Harris, Purple Diamond Press was born from resilience. After being overlooked for employment due to a disability, Charity chose to build a company from the ground up—one that champions representation, kindness, and authenticity in every story.
Since our inception, we’ve published dozens of impactful children’s books, many of which focus on themes of friendship, inclusion, disability awareness, and emotional intelligence. Our flagship title, 'What If We Were All The Same!', received national recognition and was purchased in bulk by the San Francisco 49ers to distribute to the Oakland School District. Another of our books, 'Seen', has been celebrated by educators for its powerful message and was recently selected as an award winner in the children’s publishing space.
Our mission is simple: to make a difference through literature.
We have proudly earned countless 5-star reviews from teachers, librarians, parents, and students who praise our stories for their heart, message, and impact. We’ve led author visits at dozens of schools, donated books to underserved communities, and guided aspiring authors through their publishing journey.
So when a false review appeared on our Trustpilot page—one written by someone we’ve never worked with, referencing a completely different company—we took it seriously.
The review accuses “Diamond Media Press” of unethical behavior. That is not us. We are Purple Diamond Press, and we have no connection to that company. Still, the review was posted on our profile, misleading the public and damaging the brand we’ve worked so hard to build.
We followed every official step:
- We submitted a takedown request with evidence.
- Trustpilot agreed it violated their guidelines and removed the review.
- But then, without reason, they reinstated it, despite the reviewer still referencing a different business.
This is not just a mistake. It’s negligence.
We’ve since filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and submitted a report to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). We are actively exploring legal recourse, not just for ourselves, but for every small business that’s been silenced or ignored by platforms that claim to support consumer transparency.
At Purple Diamond Press, we will continue to publish stories that empower children, uplift families, and amplify underrepresented voices. But we won’t remain silent when our integrity is questioned.
Because truth matters. And so does the reputation we’ve built.
