About the CEO – C.M. Harris

Hi, I’m Charity Harris—also known as C.M. Harris—the proud founder and CEO of Purple Diamond Press.

 

I didn’t always dream of being a children's author. After graduating college, I spent three years applying for jobs with no success. Living with a disability meant the world saw my limitations before my potential. But rather than give up, I created my own opportunity.

 

That decision changed everything.

 

What started as one book turned into a mission. Today, Purple Diamond Press has published dozens of titles that help children feel seen, valued, and loved. Our books have been read on the BBC, featured on ABC7 News, donated by the San Francisco 49ers, and praised by educators across the country. And while the accolades are incredible, what matters most to me is impact.

This story of friendship and support is so important for kids to hear. People with disabilities are sometimes not seen and that is a mistake I've made before as well. Children and adults with disabilities are just as important as everyone else. It is great that Ariana had her best friend, Elisha to be there to help her to feel seen.
